One three day weekend down and one to go. I have taken extra days for both these weekends for fun and education.
The education was a marriage retreat that Becky and I attended on Friday and Saturday. We worked our way through the Five Love Languages video series. It was actually quite a bit of fun. I know a few guys may wonder what kind of fun there could possibly be at a marriage retreat. Well I learned a lot about some of my fellow church members, including some things that I really didn’t want to know. We have blackmail material!
The next weekend is my birthday, well the Friday part of it anyway. Feel free to send cash and expensive gifts my way.
Seriously though, I have always taken my birthday off. I think I do it mostly out of the fear of what I would do to my co-workers if they kept harassing me about it being my birthday. I don’t want to go to prison and have a cell buddy named Bubba.
Could someone call me when January starts? It feels more like late fall than late winter out there!

There, now with that out of the way we can get down to business. I have a few more photos I want to post but I will save them for next week. I am doing some work on the blog backend in hopes of making my life a little easier. I am also way behind on my book reviews but shhhh, don’t tell Stacy!
Hopefully I can finish one of my books this weekend and get a good start on the other. If not it won’t be from a lack of trying.

Sometimes you just have to take the shot!
I admit, I am not a breakfast person. Never have been, never will be. But every so often I just get the urge and have to satisfy it. Sometimes it’s just a bowl of cereal sometimes it is a little more complex.
Today’s urge was fairly easy. A chili omelet. I had all the ingredients on hand, which is rare. It was everything I hoped it would be and more.
On a side note, if I have to hear one more stupid joke about that dumb gay cowboy movie I may have to strangle someone.

I spent the entire day fighting the very very strong urge to smoke a cigarette. I haven’t wanted one this bad since the first day without. I’m not sure why but my will power is taking a beating right now and I may have to lock myself in a closet in order to get past this!
