And they’re off

When did school become so day off oriented? It seems like they get off every other week for something. I understand the legit holidays like Christmas and Easter and even Martin Luther King day. But some of the stuff they get off for is just sad now. They actually had a day off so the teachers could sit around in a meeting all day and brainstorm ideas for change. Whats that you say, the principal stubbed his toe, oh my lets have another day off!

My stint on third shift will be short lived. They found someone to take it over after only two weeks. I have never seen them move so fast on anything in my life. I knew I was a pain in the butt, but I had no idea it was this bad! ;-)
I would love to say I am happy about this but deep down I am disappointed as I was really enjoying my time on third. I got to spend more time with my family and work with people who can tolerate my sense of humor.

Know what you mean about the whole school calendar, or lack of.
Sorry about the shift thing, I understand wholly the importance of the two things you cited. But dammit, we missed you and if you need someplace to feel appreciated and laughed at (wink) come see me!

Do you guys have “Ski Week” over the President’s Day holiday? The kids here used to only get that Monday off…now they get the whole week!
