Hi ho good neighbor

Sorry, I have been ill so the blog has taken a back seat for a few days. Still not very well but I thought I should post something so you know I am alive! I thought they told me that once my tonsils were out I wouldn’t have sore throats anymore. For the most part that has been true, but not today.

Don’t forget about the Scavenger Hunt. I have been out looking for some of the items. What I find odd about it so far is the fact that there are usually red cars all over the place. But they have been scarce lately and for the most part they have not been the prettiest cars.

I think I am going to go lie down again. Also feeling very weak, bleh!

The first scavenger hunt is on. You have 30 (generous) days to find and display the items. Let’s try to keep the entries in the forum. This serves many purposes, mostly it is to keep them all in one place and easy to find! Yes it does require you to sign up as a member of the forum but membership is free and I promise I will never spam you, plus it’s an easy way to get a link back to your site in here!!!

Following is the forum post in its entirety:

Break out the camera and get it warmed up it is time for the first Photo Scavenger Hunt.

If you have any questions about the rules then check HERE

If you need a place to put your pictures online then check out THIS POST

Without further ado here is the list, remember that creativity is key some of the items are open to interpretation. Don’t just take a quick snap find a new angle or a unique presentation.

1) Shoes
2) Reflection
3) Doll
4) Red car
5) Park bench
6) For sale
7) Fountain
8) Eyes
9) Sticker
10) Awning

Remember to have fun, do nothing illegal, and if you have any questions just ask!

I had really hoped to start the Scavenger hunt today but I got a little busy with a few other things. I did post an article in the forums about image hosting since I imagine most people won’t want to clutter up their personal web space with a bunch of odd photos.

I only cover three of the many hosts and not in too much detail either. The more I read it I almost seem biased towards Flickr. I really wish I could offer hosting for images on my site but for now it just isn’t possible. I ran into that trap when I was running the photography portal. Not only were we eating huge chunks of bandwidth but people were uploading inappropriate material and hotlinking images.

I’m not ruling out the possibility of hosting in the future but for now it just wouldn’t be very financially responsible of me. I really hate getting emails telling me I need to purchase more bandwidth, they tend to charge too much for that stuff as it is.

Tick tick tick

In the slowly but surely file. I am about ready to start our first scavenger hunt. As I juggle tasks I find that there are some that I can just drop. I have things on my list that just aren’t that important, at least not important enough to have a nervous breakdown over.

I am trying to write this while Angry Beavers is on Nicktoons and I am having considerable difficulty concentrating on what I am writing. I don’t know what it is about that cartoon but it can hold my attention when nothing else can. This episode seems to be taking a poke at the music industry and the fame it generates.

Just enough time to take a quick nap and get back to it. I wouldn’t need a nap if they would just start school later so I didn’t have to get up so darn early.

I am alive, no really

Becky and I went out last night for like the second time in a month. We sure are getting wild in our old age. Alright so this is probably all we will go out on for the entire year as we tend to just sit at home and stare at the TV.

We had a lot of fun. We went out to eat at Johny Carino’s and went to see a movie. First off I was going to bring some food back home to share with you but it was so good I just couldn’t stop eating. I had the Italian Meatloaf which is awesome. I took a shot of it before the plate was empty, mind you all that is left on it is the pasta and the veggies but here ya go!

After Dinner we headed out to see a movie. Since I was involved it was a difficult pick on what to see. We both settled on Second Chance. What an awesome movie, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see something uplifting. Mind you it isn’t filled with big name actors with a huge production budget, but they did very well. I was pleasantly surprised.

Well I am off to bed now as it is Presidents day tomorrow so the kids are out of school yet again. I really seriously do not remember this many holidays when I was in school!
