Hiding Jesus
If you were accused of being a Christian,
Would there be enough evidence to convict you?
I just finished reading a book, The Trouble With Jesus, that really brought that quote above home. I have been guilty of it as well. I do not stick up for Jesus nearly enough. Nor do I show true compassion for most of humanity.
That is not all the book is about. It covers the fact that the United States is trying to take Jesus out of the equation just to make our religion more politically correct. We don’t want to offend anyone by having Jesus proclaim that He is the only way. I wonder if those responsible for this are going through their Bibles and blacking out the scriptures that state that He is the way?
I find myself at times doing the same thing though. During a time of trial I will sometimes forget to turn it over to Christ and let Him guide me through the situation. By this I am excluding Him from the equation just as our PC country is trying to do. I wonder how many times I could have gotten through something a lot more effectively had I just remembered Jesus?

Weird thing, up on the left where you have Current Books, The Trouble With Jesus has “no image available”. Is it just my computer or is the Internet attempting to block him too?
Evidence to convict me? Sad to say, lately I would probly get off with a bit of Community Service.
