Oh it’s been getting so hard,

living with the things you do to me!
Oh my dreams are getting so strange
I’d like to tell you everything I see

That, my friends, is a portion of a song. Anyone care to guess what song it is and who sang it?

Not much of a weekend really. Snowed a couple of inches on Saturday night which made getting ready for church on Sunday morning a little more challenging. Scoop the walk, scoop the driveway, realize I lost my bluetooth headset somewhere. Whoa wait a minute, it was on my head when I started. See that’s what happens when they make things too light!

I only had the darn thing for a few weeks and already it was gone. This was not a good thing. As a matter of fact I was pretty upset. Now I am in panic mode, I was really used to being able to talk on my phone without holding it and I wanted it back.

So I hit connect on the phone and it searched for it. I walked everywhere that I shoveled and repeated the process, hoping that the headset hadn’t shut off since it wasn’t connected to anything. I walked out the back door and it connected. Now I had to triangulate by walking out till it was no longer connected. The headset will connect when it is within 13 feet of the phone. So I now had a 26×26 grid of area to search. That is 676 square feet of snow covered ground. Some deeper then others since I was shoveling it off to the side.

I would pick up a shovel full and sift it back onto the ground but I was coming up empty. I searched for quite awhile and was becoming rather sure that I wouldn’t find it till the snow all melted. Of course that wouldn’t be good for it since it is an electronic device. I finally threw in the towel and started to walk away when I decided to check the area in front of my truck one more time. Since there wasn’t a lot of snow there it really seemed like a pointless waste of time but I was desperate. As I looked I noticed a small hole in the snow, much smaller then the headset but I checked it anyway. Lo and behold there it was. I grabbed it shook it off and ran upstairs to run the hairdryer over it for awhile.

It is still working just as good as the day I bought it so all is right and good with the world. You know when I first saw these headsets I thought that there was no way I would like that thing plastered to the side of my head. Now I find that I can’t live without it. I am a bluetooth addict!

Humor was the only category you could file this under? What about panic, sweat, scoop? Better yet, Losing It! Glad you found it anyway. Isn’t dealing with snow great exercise???
I’m hearing those lyrics in my head, vaguely. But I’m only 1/4 the way into a cup of coffee and it’s 6 am. Better tell me…
