Just another day

June 21, 2007 · Posted in Life · 6 Comments

I have nothing, nada, zip, zilch, zero. I have tried to think of something to say here and all I can come up with is, well, nothing! This has turned into a very long week of absolutely nothing. I work, I sleep, what can I say?

So I sit here typing away, saying absolutely nothing, watching the clock tick down to the zero hour. I don’t really feel like going outside, much less to work but there it is in 2 inch digital numbers, it’s almost time to go.

Oh well, maybe when I get home tonight I will have something more substantial to say. More than likely I won’t but hey, I can hope.

Temporary reprieve

I am pretty sure that this:

Was really glad to see this:

Even if only for awhile. It seems to have stopped and the radar is confirming that. It was not near enough to make the lawn happy. I am so ready for a good old fashioned gully washer of a rain storm!

Verbosity

What do you do when you have nothing to say?

Write a ambling post about nothing just to appease the blogiverse!

I should be asleep right now, couldn’t do it. Tried, failed, surrendered.

Stopped taking the SAM-e for awhile to see if it might be the cause of my gastric disturbances of late. If it is I will be disappointed as it is the first thing I have taken that genuinely made a dent in the depression.

I was walking through the Sahara this afternoon, my side yard, and was thinking that right now Astroturf might not be a bad idea. I would be way ahead of everyone else right now in the green department. They say it is slippery when it is wet but considering the drought conditions that won’t be a problem. Oh, and it won’t turn brown when the dog pees on it either, stupid dog. Not that his urinary problems are having any effect at the moment but if it ever turns green again you will still be able to tell where he went!

I think I will try to sleep again, the pastor doesn’t like it when I fall asleep during the service.

Rain Rain, Please Come!

Can you use arid to describe something that isn’t a desert? Even if you can’t my lawn is starting to look like the scrub that you find in the Baja. It is extremely hot outside, I don’t want to go out there. I also know that it will be extremely hot in the building I work in too, I don’t want to go there either! I want to stay in my comfy cozy air conditioned house and melt into the couch.

Back to the lawn though. We’ve been watering, and by we I mean my wife since she is the one up early in the AM. She has pretty much concentrated her efforts on the part of the lawn that can be seen from the street. She’s a smart lady and I appreciate the fact that she isn’t trying to put us in the poor house with the water bill.

I worry now that this doesn’t bode well for the 4th of July. If it doesn’t start raining soon they will have to cancel the fireworks, that my friends is a big bummer because I really love watching them! Does anyone know how to do a rain dance? If so would you mind doing one for us? We need moisture and we need it soon!

Hello, I love you

Won’t you tell me your name?

The only reason I have made it so far this week is my music. If I didn’t have my little Zen player I would more than likely snap and go off the deep end. I have a little bit of everything on it and it serves me well. I have become very faithful in remembering to plug it in when I get home from work. It is my constant companion.

Here is where the problem comes in though! My cute little Zen player has a battery that only lasts eight hours, nine tops. Now if I am working a twelve hour shift, well you can do the math. I have been waiting past the first four hours before I start listening. Let me tell you that four hours of contact with some of these people is more than enough to do you in.

On a side note, if your bosses ever say we have a new system that is going to improve communication so everyone will know what is going on. Just laugh in their faces and tell them that Jeff says it won’t work don’t even bother. The problem with improving communication within a business is that it has to rely on people. These are the same people who can’t communicate in the first place and now you expect that having a meeting with just a select few will help? I laugh in your general direction.

Yeah, got that off my chest. Now I think I will try and get a little more sleep as I am running on 4 hours now and I would like just a bit more before I go in there!
