Can you use arid to describe something that isn’t a desert? Even if you can’t my lawn is starting to look like the scrub that you find in the Baja. It is extremely hot outside, I don’t want to go out there. I also know that it will be extremely hot in the building I work in too, I don’t want to go there either! I want to stay in my comfy cozy air conditioned house and melt into the couch.
Back to the lawn though. We’ve been watering, and by we I mean my wife since she is the one up early in the AM. She has pretty much concentrated her efforts on the part of the lawn that can be seen from the street. She’s a smart lady and I appreciate the fact that she isn’t trying to put us in the poor house with the water bill.
I worry now that this doesn’t bode well for the 4th of July. If it doesn’t start raining soon they will have to cancel the fireworks, that my friends is a big bummer because I really love watching them! Does anyone know how to do a rain dance? If so would you mind doing one for us? We need moisture and we need it soon!

I feel bad for you guys.
The only surefire way I know to make it rain is to schedule some important event outdoors that would be ruined completely by rain, (ie. a wedding, a scrapbooking party, hanging sheets on the clothesline to dry, um, a day of sunbathing in the backyard, roofing, painting the lawn furniture.) Try some or any of those.
