Lunar eclipse

I wanted to post this early this morning but my less than wonderful web host decided to crap out on me again. Yes I am looking for a new host and no I will never recommend these guys to anyone.
Anyway, I got up early just to take some photos of the eclipse and share them with my wonderful readers.

I cannot believe I got up at 4:45 in the morning just to watch the moon disappear. But then again it was so totally worth it.

I was amazed at how long it was taking, of course I was tired and wanted to go back to bed.

We woke up the girls to see this too. I said I would rather drive spikes into my eyes, then my wife went and woke them up anyway. What does that tell you?

This is what we came here for, it’s almost there!

Oh yeah, full eclipse. It was worth it and I was happy that I went to the effort to see it. Even my 11 year old was impressed. Although I looked like Chevy Chase in Vacation when I bobbed my head, packed my stuff up and got outta there!

Sorry ’bout the web host…
Thank you soooo much for posting these pictures. If you go back and read my blog comments at One Wink you will know why I’m so appreciative… These are awesome pictures. I tried to convince PD to get up, I’m glad now I didn’t…
I’ll have to send Brian over to see these.
Hi Jeff it’s Natalie-I came here from Wink’s. Thanks for the pix! I missed it too. I forgot to look, but living in the same general area as Linda I too would have been plagued by the fog!!
I am extremely ready for a new camera with better glass. I still like my Fuji but I really want to move up in the world! The photos it takes are good until you are trying to shoot something far away, like say, the moon! The above shots are extreme crops. If I put up the whole picture you would see that the moon itself is only about 8% of the entire shot.
The pictures are great. Thanks.
I need to pay more attention to what’s going on around me. I missed it altogether.
