Why I am beginning to hate shopping.

I was on a quest today. A mission so to speak. Since I am going forward with the Fry Day idea I realized there were a few things I needed. Without getting into too much detail on what Fry Day is yet let me just say there are a few minor needs in order to do this right.

First I went to the small players, the dollar store and a dollar general. While I have no delusions of grandeur, I was pretty sure my quest would end with these two stores! I was wrong, apparently a small kitchen scale and a ruler are too much for these types of stores.

Next up, my love to hate it store whose name starts with a w and ends with almart. Let’s just forget that they recently remodeled and moved everything in the store to some remote location that no one seems to be able to find. The big problem was that I could not, for the life of me, find a ruler there. I looked in school supplies and office supplies and even the hobby aisle, nada. To say that I was getting irritated would have been a serious understatement. My kids got their school supplies from there just a scant few weeks ago and now they are all out of rulers?

Same story with the small scale. That slot on the shelf was conveniently empty. But they did have a major brand digital scale that could apparently solve all the worlds problems too. I mean considering how much they wanted for it, it must be made of gold!

So today was not a success but hey, theres always tomorrow!

  1. I have an idea what you might do with the kitchen scale, but the ruler kind of scares me… But I trust you and whatever it is, I’m sure it will be amazing. Hope you find your stuff.

  2. I did finally find a scale. Went to the local flea market, where you can find darn near anything! Now I just need a freaking ruler!

  3. Are you going to make all your french fries the same length or something? (Last time I looked, the universal regulation for fries is 3.75 inches.) ;-)
