Fry Day #8 McDonald’s

It was inevitable, I had to do them and here they are:

While Burger King was a pleasant surprise, McDonald’s was no surprise at all, and not very pleasant either.

I could taste the potato, I will give it that much. They weren’t very greasy either, another credit. But, there was an underlying taste also. Either they don’t maintain separate fryers for their fries or they need to change the oil in that fryer.

Did I mention that they were like biting into a sponge? That is what the texture reminded me of, bleh.

I have no idea how they manage it every time but I was 10th in line at the drive thru and still managed to get old fries. 10th in line, that is almost a guarantee for hot fries at other places, but not at McD’s. Seems like every time I go there I lose a little more respect for their organization. They are on a media blitz trying to make their image shine yet they let stores like this continue to tarnish their less than sterling reputation.

Final word: For a place that is so popular and famous for their fries, I do not understand how they get away with serving fries like this!

Older, wiser, and definitely blinder!

So as some of you may notice, I have upped the font size on the blog a bit. I left the links in the sidebar alone but the content was just too small for me. Right now I judge my fonts on whether I can read them without my glasses on. If I can’t then I up the size a bit.

Admittedly that may cause problems in the future as my sight continues to go downhill. I can foresee a day when the font size will be so large that scrolling down just to read one word may happen.

They have had me in the inspection room at work for the last few days. I have to do it again tomorrow then I get booted back to the floor. Honestly, I would rather stay in inspection. It is more suitable for me and when I go home at night I don’t have to curl into the fetal position and mumble to myself.

Oh one more thing about the font size, it makes my posts look bigger too! :)

Good gravy, it’s almost here!

Did you realize that there is only 29 more days till Christmas. I am so completely not ready for this. No decorations up yet, I don’t even have them out and untangled. I do have some presents but not nearly all of them. It’s times like this…

Our company Christmas party is this coming Saturday. I haven’t felt this combination of dread and loathing in a long time. I really need to find a job that I am capable of handling with my less than super health.

All I want for Christmas it to feel better. I won’t even ask for good, just better!

Happy day of giving thanks

I hope you all have a great day of thanks. I really meant to wait for a bit to go live with this theme. There are still a few things I want to change in it to make it more my own. But in the spirit of messing things up as often as I can, I put it up earlier than anticipated!

Question for you

I have had some comments that my blog is sometimes not letting people comment on posts. That will happen on older posts since I have it set up that way. They are claiming newer posts are doing this also.

Have you had any troubles with this blog either in commenting or reaching it at times. If so let me know. Tell me what happened and when. I am trying to work out a few bugs in the system here and I am also seriously considering a new host, again!
