Have you ever been mellow

I have been silent this weekend, I apologize, a little.

See, we had our company Christmas party on Saturday and the jury is still out on whether it was worth it or not. I spend enough time with those people throughout the week, why do I have to hang with them on my weekend?

My biggest problem with the whole thing was they decided to have it in a piano bar. I have nothing against pianos, just bars. I have never really liked bars, even when I was drinking a lot I didn’t do it in bars. I have always felt that the whole atmosphere in most bars is a little too rowdy for my taste.

The piano players were quite good though and kept us entertained. I do enjoy piano music and they knew pretty much anything that I threw at them for requests. Everyone else was requesting stupid stuff that really doesn’t go well on a piano but they played them anyway. They were happy that at least I was trying.

I have some photos but for the sake of my job I won’t post them, unless they tick me off again, then all bets are off!

So how was your weekend?

  1. I’m kinda like you when it comes to spending time with co-workers outside of work. I see them for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and that’s more than enough of my time than some of them deserve. I won’t be going to my company party this year. It’s just no fun being alone at one of these functions. Besides, I know my co-workers. Showing up alone is just asking for one of the busibodies to try to set me up with someone.

  2. Here’s my problem, some of the people I work with drive me nuts. By the end of the night I am ready to strangle one of them. I do my best to remain kind and not say what I want to say. It’s no wonder I have digestive problems!

  3. Let’s make this a threesome. (ahem. not what you’re thinking) I agree with both of you. I can barely stand some co-workers for an 8-hour day. Why in the name of all that’s Good and Holy would I choose to socialize with them also? Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a lot of the people I work with. It’s just that those annoying ones totally tip the scale.
(Jeff, when you turn 50 you won’t care anymore. At least not enough to let it affect your health.)

  4. I think we all know people who drive us nuts. Some of them are co-workers, some are other drivers, some are in the aisles and checkout counters of the places we shop, and some are our very own children. Maybe this is God’s way of teaching us patience. Think of what He has to put up with from us everyday…

  5. Jeff, I think maybe God has sent us some “sunshine” to make us stop whining and complaining so much. OR, He’s trying to teach us patience.
    Hee hee. ;-P
