Six of one, half a dozen of the other

July 31, 2008 · Posted in Blogging the disease, For His glory, Life

I have not been at work at all this week. Instead I have spent the majority of the time either in bed or wishing I was in bed. At the moment I cannot stand for more than 15 minutes before the nausea becomes overwhelming. So here is the symptom count at the moment:

  • Abdominal pain
  • nausea
  • exhaustion
  • dia*****

No it is not very pleasant. On the plus side, in a major coup, I was able to secure an emergency consult with the best Doctor in the state when it comes to Chrones. She agreed to see me this coming Monday. I couldn’t even get in to see my regular gastro until the end of August.

I did manage to see a nurse practitioner yesterday that was able to prescribe something for the nausea and pain. The medicines do work somewhat, I still get nauseous after standing for a bit but it is now as overwhelming and it goes away if I sit for a few minutes. Unfortunate side effects of the meds= even more exhausted than I was, but I will take it over the other problems any day.

I am hoping to resume a regular posting schedule here soon and post something that isn’t whining about my illness!

God bless,
Jeff A

Gee whiz, Jeff… you are in bad shape. I was trying to think of something funny to make you smile but you might not appreciate that on top of the nausea. Please know ya got my thoughts and prayers. Good luck on Monday, keep us posted.
Is your workplace treating you good, I hope? Nothing worse than being sick and having to worry about that too.
    Hugs!

      @One Wink -
I count myself as lucky, it could be much worse than it is. I may not feel great but at least with the medicines I am able to eat. My workplace is being very understanding while still following their rules. They have been more accommodating than I thought they would be, I have no complaints really.

    Hope you’re feeling better today.
Oh yeah, I can never spell the dia**** word either ;-) but I know that you were just exercising good taste. (bad pun, Linda, real bad)

I’m not sure why I can’t see my comment above but here is what it says, well if this one shows up!

One of my plug-ins wasn’t playing nice with the comment remix plug-in so I deactivated the remix till someone can figure it out. Oh well, wasn’t that important.

Ya know, earlier today, I had an overwheleming sense that I should pray for you. You and Wink, actually. I entrust you both to God’s grace and lovingkindness. He is our Maker, as well as the Lord who heals us…
