I have noticed when talk turns to political discourse no one comments but I get quite a few hits as far as traffic. Other than chasing away my regular readers, what am I not doing right? What would make those that are coming here actually comment? I know that not everyone agree’s with me, is the comment link not obvious? Or do I make it sound like I don’t want comments? Come on people, work with me here! Say something, even dissent is better than silence. Just keep in mind that if you become beligerent I will more than likely delete you, I try to keep it PG here!

Perhaps it’s a matter of brevity. Anymore, if I can’t leave my comment in a few quick sentences, then I feel I’m being overbearing. I don’t like to leave post-length comments like I used to. And most of my political comments could end up that way – especially if I disagree with what’s been posted.
Maybe, I understand why a few of my regulars are not commenting on the political posts, although I invite dissenting opinions as well as favorable. I am more curious about the unspoken masses that have been here lately. I have been seeing quadruple the normal traffic lately but no one is commenting. Maybe that is for the best though as I don’t know what these people are coming here looking for other than the search engine hits.
I’m just not very political. I listen to what people say, and keep up with the news, but just don’t talk about politics. To me, it’s just a fact of life.
Focus, please. I came here seeking discussions about photography, I have found political opinion and religion.
What are the two things that you should not discuss at parties?
If I want talk of politics I will seek a political blog.
If I want talk of faith I will seek a faith-based blog.
I came here seeking discussions about photography, I leave here seeking discussions about photography.
I understand your displeasure. The fallen1.com domain was, for the longest time, a photography portal. Due to a lack of interest and over proliferation of photography portals, I decided it was time to move on. This site is now all about whatever is on top of my mind at the time.
I have started a new site which will be photography centric although mostly around my photography. It was discussed in the post above the one you commented on. The new site is http://www.jeffallenphoto.com
Please feel free to come back and tell me how horrid my photo skills are or tell me about the new lens you just bought. I will be adding a discussion board to the domain in the near future.
Hi Jeff,
I rarely get to even read blogs anymore let alone have time to actually formulate an intelligent-sounding opinion/comment. Plus, I HATE political discussion online, in real life and anywhere else. Too confrontational and negative and boring for me. Not that YOU are boring, please don’t interpret it that way. It could just be a Pisces trait of mine.
Dear wink, I know of your dislike of political talk, so I wasn’t aiming that at you, or even any of my regular readers. More at the several hits per day I am getting who are saying nothing. And au contrair, but I do get boring, a lot!
