Aside from the fact that the wedding was for my step son, there was one other unique attribute. The brides family has a rather, shall we say, unique sense of humor:

My only complaint was that it was in a church. Granted it wasn’t loaded, but for some reason it just didn’t feel right.
It was about a half and half. Half the people in the church laughed, the other side was stone quiet!
I wouldn’t be bothered by it. But then again, I’m the guy with a batlh’eth hanging on my wall…
Without getting too theological here, keep in mind that WE are the Church. The wedding took place in a building where church services occur. Why should it be treated with a different reverence than your own home?
Likewise, if we were under attack by a foreign army, churches would be gathering places for those of us with weapons ready to resist. Would that bother you?
