Long strange trip indeed!

It has been a pretty rough month for me so far. Seems like I have spent the majority of it so far battling some illness or another. Sadly, the month is not over yet.

The latest bout has found me having a pretty horrid allergic reaction to something, what we may never know, but something. I have been covered head to toe in hives for 3 days now, looks like it will be a few more before they go away. I have had worse reactions, my penicillin allergy comes to mind, but this one is lasting longer and is way itchier.

My first trip to the doctor Tuesday yielded me the advice to stop taking one of my medications that might be causing the problem. Nothing to take for the itching, no advice either. I went back for the follow up visit Wednesday and dealt with some more poking and prodding. This time when I left at least they gave me a steroid to take and a pill to take care of the itching.

Now I sit and wait. Will it go away? Will it get worse? Only time will tell.

Side-note: On that first visit, after the doctor saw me, she brought in a NP to see my hives. I felt like I was someones show and tell toy. On my second visit a new doctor saw me, when she was done she, you guessed it, brought in another doctor to confer with. Of course this doctor had a sense of humor at least. He popped in the door and said he was there to make a rash decision.
