I am running out of words to express my dismay at how I feel. I guess I could get a thesaurus and make sure I’ve got them all but that seems like effort, we’ve already covered my thoughts on putting effort out.

On the plus side, spring is approaching and that means STORMS! Also the Indiana severe weather symposium is coming up in March, yes I am going and getting my weather geek on.

Sadly, this is all I have to say today so with that I bid you adieu.

Thanksgiving is over and now comes the mad dash to Christmas, which I am totally not ready for. I’ve been thinking I might go through the girls closets and dig out the stuff they haven’t used in awhile and just wrap that stuff, they’d probably never notice.

We, and by we I mean Becky, have become obsessed with puzzles. I do enjoy helping but I don’t have the patience Becky has. After about ten minutes of staring at a bunch of pieces that all look the same I have to give up. I swear they all look the same to me. Ten piece puzzles are about my speed, 1,000 pieces, no thanks.

Watching Star Wars trilogy, I forgot just how bad Return Of The Jedi was till now.

So yeah, like I said on Facebook, we went out and bought a Kia Soul. Neither one of us really liked the car and I preferred to try to cram me and the girls in the truck rather than drive the Aveo.

I love the Soul, there’s tons of room and it gets great gas mileage. Plus, I can cram all my ham radio stuff in there and there’s still room to fit people! Which, by the way, the people in my life seem to appreciate that fact the most.

Driving it is a blast, literally. They put in a killer stereo system that will send most people running away. Which is the only part Becky doesn’t seem to like, go figure. I can plug in my iPod and jam to my hearts content, unless of course Becky’s in the car. I take it easy on her, for some reason she doesn’t like my heavy metal or rap metal taste!

Mondays always seem to vex me. Even though I haven’t been in the workforce for over two years, they still bite me sometimes. Almost makes me want to stay in bed all day but…

My new bed is harder than it felt at the store. We bought the floor model for a substantial savings but for some reason it just doesn’t feel the same as the day we plopped on it at the furniture store. I would love to return it but…

It is the floor model so there is no money back guarantee. The warranty is still valid but the no return policy is in effect. Now I have to sleep on it for the next few years till we can save enough to get yet another bed.

One thing that doesn’t suck is the fact that I am one payment away from officially owning my truck. What does suck is that the last time I payed off a vehicle it died two days later!

I am enjoying my amateur radio. I have been listening in and learning mostly. What sucks about this you ask? I know no one on the air. These people all know each other and have way more technical skills then I do. Even when I do talk to them, I have no clue what they are talking about sometimes. I would love to get a home based radio that puts out some nice wattage and a big antenna but they are expensive and then there’s that pesky HOA covenant.

Done complaining yet? No I am not, but I will give you a rest here.

Fair’s over and I accomplished nothing. It was so incredibly hot all week that it made the whole thing miserable. I think I made it miserable for everyone else too, I get whiny when its hot.

So there you go, a whole week wasted. Nothing new really, but disappointing.

Fair time is coming. Rides are being setup as I type this. I usually am rather excited about this, not so much this year.

Maybe by the time it actually starts my enthusiasm will return but for now, I just don’t feel it. Not sure why, it’s a cornucopia of photography subjects just waiting to be shot.

Maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with the fact that it’s going to be hot as blazes out there the entire week. Maybe I’m just getting too old to enjoy it. Maybe my health has something to do with it.

Anyway, I need to go shake myself out of this funk. Going to go find someone to talk to on my radio.

No fireworks photos, no photos at all actually. Spent time learning how to work my little transceiver. Realized that it didn’t quite have the power I needed. So, I went on a hunt for something a little more powerful.

First thing I learned, there aren’t many brick and mortar stores that carry ham radio equipment anymore. I did finally find one in Indiana but it was 3 hours away. Fortunately they had a website as well. As luck would have it they had a demo model Wouxun for sale. I ordered it and got it the next day!

I have spent the last few days working through the broken english in the owners manual to get it set up. Now all I need is someone to talk to on it!
