Mondays always seem to vex me. Even though I haven’t been in the workforce for over two years, they still bite me sometimes. Almost makes me want to stay in bed all day but…

My new bed is harder than it felt at the store. We bought the floor model for a substantial savings but for some reason it just doesn’t feel the same as the day we plopped on it at the furniture store. I would love to return it but…

It is the floor model so there is no money back guarantee. The warranty is still valid but the no return policy is in effect. Now I have to sleep on it for the next few years till we can save enough to get yet another bed.

One thing that doesn’t suck is the fact that I am one payment away from officially owning my truck. What does suck is that the last time I payed off a vehicle it died two days later!

I am enjoying my amateur radio. I have been listening in and learning mostly. What sucks about this you ask? I know no one on the air. These people all know each other and have way more technical skills then I do. Even when I do talk to them, I have no clue what they are talking about sometimes. I would love to get a home based radio that puts out some nice wattage and a big antenna but they are expensive and then there’s that pesky HOA covenant.

Done complaining yet? No I am not, but I will give you a rest here.

Since I have been ill I really haven’t been too productive. Thats not to say I have done nothing, just not much.

Other than that, I have basically become one with the bed. I am hoping that it is starting to clear up a bit now. Won’t get too excited yet as I thought that a few days ago too.

WHAM life reminds you how cruel it can be.

It started out as an innocent cold, I should have known better.

8/20/10 I notice some congestion and get the sniffles.

8/22/10 It shifts into high gear, don’t want to get out of bed.

8/23 – 8/26/10 Becky tells me I should go to the doctor.

8/26/10 I give in and go to immediate care. They tell me it’s viral and give me cough syrup and a prescription for antibiotics that I am only to fill if a fever sets in.

8/29/10 Fever!

8/31/ – 9/1/10 I start to feel better!

9/1/10 Late evening. Spend the entire night coughing unable to sleep.

9/2/10 Go to ER get an x-ray, two breathing treatments, prednisone + a script for more, a new inhaler, and a shot in the nether region that hurt like heck and still does a bit.

9/3/10 Lying awake for the second night in a row but hopped up on Albuterol this time. Realize I have not updated my blog in a while. Posted this long drawn out account just for filler on my site!

Ileocolic resection= removal of a small section of the small intestine and reattachment of small intestine to colon. (at least in my case)

This is going to recount the days that I spent in the hospital, including the moments up to surgery, it isn’t terrible exciting, but may prove useful for someone someday. I will be doing it in parts so as not to have one long rambling post.

12-26-08
The alarm started blaring at 4am, I was starving and still very tired. Becky and I got up, got dressed and set about the task of getting to the hospital. My surgery was scheduled for 7:30am and you are required to be there two hours early for check in and getting prepped. After check in we were sent to the waiting room where we, guess what, waited!  The wait wasn’t very long but it was unpleasant for me. I hadn’t eaten anything since the 24th and I tend to get cranky when I am hungry. They took us to a little room with a very small bed like chair and a few regular chairs. I got to put on my sexy robe at that time and lay down for a bit. Thankfully for Becky, there was a small TV in the room as I wasn’t much company.

People came and went for the next few hours. I saw nurses and anesthesiologists and more nurses and I believe a surgeon, although I have to admit I was a bit out of it from being tired and hungry. When the time finaly came for me to go to surgery, they asked me if I would be able to walk or if I needed a wheelchair, I walked. I remember walking into the very brightly lit room, I remember the pure abject terror that I was feeling. As I was lying on the table they were busy searching for veins for the I.V.  Soon they put me on oxygen, they were talking to me the whole while, telling me to relax. My heart rate was showing my panicked state. Then I was out.

Over the last week I have been in the emergency room twice, once from home and once from work. The trip from work was via an ambulance. My chrones is giving me fits and really making life miserable. I’m not sure what exactly is going on, I will have to wait to see my gastro guy to find that out.

The ambulance ride was due to the fact that I had thrown up so hard and so long that I was unable to stand on my own. I was severely dehydrated and so weak that it was pathetic!

Hopefully this too will pass. I am trying to keep a positive attitude, which has been very difficult. This is about the longest that I have sat at my computer all week. It is just too uncomfortable to sit here and type.

On that note, I am going back to bed.

Ok, I have nothing again. I had hoped to post something substantial tonight but I am beat. Work was trying to kill me and I am in need of some sleep.

In other news, it’s time to break out the ark again. It has been raining all day non stop and it looks like a river is running down my alley!

I am off tomorrow, well today now. My dad is having surgery on some skin cancer and my 11 year old has a choir concert tonight that I told her I would try and make it to. I haven’t told her I actually got the day off yet, thought I would surprise her when she gets out of school.

Alrighty then, I am off to bed!

Alright, so I was wrong, I didn’t post anything of use. Well nothing all that interesting has happened anyway. I wake up, I eat, I go to work, I come home, I go to sleep. Whew stop this crazy rollercoaster, I want off.

Life has been pretty boring lately, that or I haven’t been very attentive. I guess it could be either one. I did try a couple of new food items which I plan on reviewing soon. I figure I might as well write about all the fun I am having with my new diet. I have found things that I had no idea they would ever make organic. For instance, did you know they make organic beer? I had no idea, thats for sure. If I ever find some of it, I am going to try it! For purely scientific reasons mind you.

I have got to get to bed. I need my daily dose of tossing and turning.

Because I enjoy inflicting cruel and unusual punishment, I am reposting this. I posted about it originally in December of last year. Since it is that time again, here ya go!

I say we all call our congressmen and see if we can’t get rid of this affliction that they call Monday. When I was younger I could never quite understand what all the fuss was about. Now that I am older, and hopefully wiser, I understand.

Mondays are evil. God made Tuesday through Sunday, but satan had his hand on Monday! (For some reason my spell checker wanted to capitalize satan, not gonna happen, I reserve that one for God and Jesus!) Anyway, I just hate Mondays. While I can’t get into all the reasons right now, suffice it to say that I have some darn good ones!

I am tossing around a couple “> canada of different ideas for Fry day, I am having a hard time deciding though. I am getting down to the nicer places on my list. Granted there are still some crap places on the list too, but some of them I am really looking forward to because I love ‘em!
