Late to the game
I wanted to post this Monday but I didn’t want to drop my book review down that quick, not that anyone seems to have read it.
So Sunday we had a special guest at our church. He was an American Idol hopeful, you know he made it down to the 44 but never quite made it to TV I guess. Anyway, he has an amazing voice and it really was a blessing to have him sing for us. I don’t really have much to say about it other than that, oh and I wish I could remember his last name. First name is Matt, just can’t seem to pull the last name from the old memory banks.
Well if you made it this far into the post you must be expecting a photo. You would be right. It isn’t fantastic because the lighting at our church leave a lot to be desired and I do not have an off camera flash setup YET!
You know I have stopped putting in the click to enlarge instruction because it seems to be ingrained in all our minds. Every time I see a photo I hover my mouse pointer over it to see if it can be clicked so I just assume that everyone else does it too, hence the lack of instructions!
Being sick stinks!
But it is giving me time to work on this site and another project that I am going to tell you about now. First a little background.
About a month ago Becky and I were driving around doing errands when I saw on the back of a truck a sticker for a website called free yourself from debt. I remarked to her that what we really need is a website called free yourself with prayer. Well, apparently that was Gods idea, he planted it and made it an obsession.
I bought a new domain http://www.freeyourselfwithprayer.org and have been working the idea ever since. Right now it is mostly a placeholder. There is only one article two articles so far, one written by one of my friends from church and the other is a Bible passage. It will slowly grow as I get more articles either submitted by others or written by me.
I find the whole thing deliciously ironic considering I really am not the greatest prayer in the world. I can’t even pray out loud in prayer groups or I start stammering and stuttering. Yet God put this on me and I have taken it and ran. It may not be the greatest site on prayer but it will be exactly what God led me to do.
If you have an article on prayer that you would like to submit then email me or comment here and let me know. All authors will receive full credit for their writing. I will take anything that has to do with prayer, either articles on prayer or personal testimonies as to how prayer has affected your life.
God bless,
Jeff A
And lets backtrack a bit!
Saturday, I had the distinct honor to attend one of the premier parades in our area. (Snicker snicker) So I might be being a bit sarcastic, that’s nothing new now is it? So anyway, there were a few cool things in the parade but for the most part it was your standard small town parade. Cars pulling hay wagons full of Cub Scouts, tractors and such. One thing did stand out for me, that is not necessarily a good thing either. There was a lawn mower drill team. I’m pretty sure they stole this idea from someone, but since it was a church group I decided not to push the issue.
So here they are in all their glory, enjoy!

If it isn’t one thing, it’s another!
So I get over the bronchitis/flu, whatever it was that I had and I get a tooth infection. I hate having a tooth ache but when you throw in a swollen face to boot, I really don’t like it. So I made an emergency trip to the dentist today for some antibiotics and a few pain pills and next week I will be subject to yet another extraction.
In other news, I got some new books to review. I just finished one of them up tonight and I am currently reading the other, plus trying to write the review for the first one! Oh and I won this really cool Life Application Study Bible from ACM. I like it a lot. As a matter of fact I like it so much that it replaced the one I had been carrying to church. I really enjoy the format that is used and the study helps are awesome.
Anyway, I need to go take a pain pill and catch some sleep, I didn’t get much last night due to the pain and swollen face!
From one who doesn’t like attention.
I really really hate it when you decide to have a sneezing fit right in the middle of the sermon at church. There is just no way to stop everyone from noticing! The worst part is that there is no way to look cool while sneezing or after sneezing. Something about you sitting there with your hands over your face just isn’t cool. Oh and when you pull your hands away, you know you want to look at them and make sure there isn’t anything gross on them but everyone is still looking at you. How do you look cool on that one? You can’t just lower your hands down to your lap cause whatever might be on them will now be on your pants.
I am going to start keeping a box of Kleenex handy at all times, I am not going through that again!
