Honestly, I hate sweating. I sweat all the time. My head sweats the most. It drives me nuts. It was most annoying at night. Shaving has minimized the problem enough to be worth it. Besides, it makes me look like a lunatic!

I have been dieting lately. An important part of my diet has been my daily walks. It has rained everyday for so long that I forgot what the sun looked like. After it stopped raining, it was so cold my head was freezing!

I can’t win!

WHAM life reminds you how cruel it can be.

It started out as an innocent cold, I should have known better.

8/20/10 I notice some congestion and get the sniffles.

8/22/10 It shifts into high gear, don’t want to get out of bed.

8/23 – 8/26/10 Becky tells me I should go to the doctor.

8/26/10 I give in and go to immediate care. They tell me it’s viral and give me cough syrup and a prescription for antibiotics that I am only to fill if a fever sets in.

8/29/10 Fever!

8/31/ – 9/1/10 I start to feel better!

9/1/10 Late evening. Spend the entire night coughing unable to sleep.

9/2/10 Go to ER get an x-ray, two breathing treatments, prednisone + a script for more, a new inhaler, and a shot in the nether region that hurt like heck and still does a bit.

9/3/10 Lying awake for the second night in a row but hopped up on Albuterol this time. Realize I have not updated my blog in a while. Posted this long drawn out account just for filler on my site!

Went to Lowes today to pick up some storage containers when I noticed the retention pond out back was full of geese. Upon investigation I discovered that some of them were frozen into the ice. The ice is thin and the birds are mean so helping them is out of the question. They didn’t seem to bothered by the situation anyway.

Yes I am still alive, although at the moment it doesn’t feel like it. I am fighting multiple problems at the moment. A nasty cold is bringing me down and add to that the fact that my Chrones is acting up and you can see why I am not on much. Yes I am feeling miserable, no I am not letting it stop me from spending time with my family. I wish I didn’t have to go to work today, I could really use another day of rest.

Hopefully within the next few days I will start getting better and then I can post something good. I have a few photos to share and some amusing(to me at least) stories to share.

I was pretty sure someone said it was spring? Why is it cold outside? I am NOT amused!

Dear Ronald,

I went to one of your dining establishments this morning. I was in the mood for some sausage gravy. So much so that I got up early and ventured out in the cold rain to vanquish this desire. Rather than go to one of the local truck-stops, where I am almost guaranteed a nice order of gravy, I chose your place of business.

I got out of my truck, the drive thru was extremely busy, and went inside to order my breakfast. There was no line inside, as everyone seemed to want to use your drive-up convenience, ordered my meal and went back to my vehicle. I drove home immediately and unwrapped my “sausage” gravy and biscuit, as I poured out the gravy from the Styrofoam container I was dismayed to make a horrid discovery.

Apparently, in order to make “sausage” gravy, you are only required to make sure it has at least 4 tiny pieces of sausage. Four, 4, FOUR! What the heck! I understand that the price of pork is up and the white gravy mix is cheap, but I really expected more from you. I would expect at least the equivalent of one sausage patty to be in my gravy. What I found was closer to what you scrape off the grill after you cook them. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed and more than a little angry.

I would love to say that I will never eat at your restaurants again, but that is a promise I can not keep. You are still a convenient way to feed my kids when no one wants to cook, or when we want to grab a bite to eat on the way to where ever we may be going. What I can say, without fear of being wrong, is that I will never order your “sausage” gravy and biscuit again. The next time that craving hits me I will either go to Hardee’s or a truck stop!

I had to work Saturday, I hate working Saturdays. I have to do it next Saturday too. It’s putting a damper on my otherwise chipper mood(I’m not really chipper, ever). I took a vacation day Monday so I could spend some time with my family and so my wife and I could go Christmas shopping. We got a lot more accomplished that I thought we would and had a pretty good time doing it. That would not normally be surprising if not for the fact that I have a nasty cold that has been dragging me down since Friday. I refused to let it ruin my day.

Through all the shopping and general merriment I did also manage to get myself a new CD. I hadn’t heard anything about it but found it on the rack at the local K-Mart, so I picked it up. I will tell you more about it, including my thoughts on it, tomorrow!

Outside this afternoon, braving the very cool very strong wind. I saw something flash “>canada before my eyes. Then another and another, I wasn’t sure what it was. There was only one way to tell for sure in that wind.

Jumped in my truck and stared at the windshield for what seemed like an interminable amount of time, but was really only a minute or two. There it was, plopping on my windshield, dancing for a moment then disappearing just as quickly.

A SNOW FLAKE.

It is not time for that. I am not ready, I am not willing, and I am certainly not able to deal with snow yet. I am now considering moving to Florida, maybe even further south, I want warmth, I want no snow.

Man, I am so not ready!
