Since I have been on medical leave I have had a lot of time on my hands. When I am not feeling ill I have been doing something that I used to love, cooking! I have worked in several restaurants over the years and have always loved to cook. Sometimes I like to experiment or just make new(to me) things.

I have always loved Baklava but had never made it before, so I had to try. It came out pretty well but I must say it is a bit of a pain to make. When they say to put a damp cloth over the dough you better believe it. At first I didn’t, but I only lost a couple sheets of the very thin dough.

Did everyone like it?
The adults did.

Was it easy to make?
Yes and no.

Will I ever make it again?
Probably not!

I have to go back to work today, coming back from my suspension. I’m not sure how to go about this though. Should I go in looking humbled and ready to conform? Should I look like a dog that has been kicked? I know it was a punishment so I guess I should look like I have been punished.

There’s just one problem though. I had a darn good time! I got to spend more time with my family. I was able to make things easier on my wife by cooking supper for everyone. See I really want to be on day shift. That is one of the main reasons I started my job hunt in the first place. All the stuff that annoys me doesn’t hurt but I know that will be a factor no matter where I go.

Alright, now I need to go practice my sad face. I need to get this grin off my face before I get there!

I am noticing that you can justify the taste of these nicotine lozenges. At first I thought they tasted horrid but now I actually think I am beginning to like them. Of course I will have to get over my lozenge addiction after this. My conviction is much stronger this time than on previous attempts. I am tired of getting bronchitis all the time and that is my major push right now.

Company Christmas party is today. We’re going bowling, I believe there is food involved too. They haven’t really said much and that has kept employee enthusiasm low but I still think everyone is going to show up. My wife will finally get to meet the people I complain about every day!
