My face is still pretty sore, but I’m told that will fade. I’ve lost 13 pounds since Sunday, they say that’s normal. I can’t eat solid foods very well, if at all. I probably won’t be getting dentures till late next year. But other than that, everythings great, thanks for asking.

Today in just a few hours I will finally be getting my dental work done. I would love to say I am looking forward to it, but that would be a lie. I am hoping it will give some relief to me.

While I would prefer to sleep through this, my dentist has decided to go the sedation route which will leave me conscious but out of it. I have had the sedation method before but this work is much larger scale than it was then.

Oh well, see you later alligator.

Not really.

So I am stuck now waiting on the insurance company to give my dentist the OK to go ahead with the procedure. I am trying to reason it all out in my mind and not getting very far.

Essentially I am waiting for someone who takes my money and then makes me beg to get it back. Hopefully they are going to give it to someone who doesn’t even realize they are supposed to preauthorize expensive stuff(they say they use this insurance company all the time). This person, who doesn’t even know how to do the easy stuff right, is then going to be digging around in my mouth with sharp instruments and removing teeth while I am semi-conscious. Oh yeah, this sounds like a great idea!

Oh well, gives me a chance to use this T.G.I. Fridays coupon, see ya later.

I get to go to the dentist again. I would love to say how much I enjoy those visits, but then I would be lying. On the plus side, at least I will be medicated again. Maybe I will try to blog about something, maybe not. I just need to get through work tonight and get to sleep as soon as I get home. My appointment is for early in the morning. I’m not sure what the heck I was thinking when I made it. 7:30 is just too early to be drugged and messed with.

So I get over the bronchitis/flu, whatever it was that I had and I get a tooth infection. I hate having a tooth ache but when you throw in a swollen face to boot, I really don’t like it. So I made an emergency trip to the dentist today for some antibiotics and a few pain pills and next week I will be subject to yet another extraction.

In other news, I got some new books to review. I just finished one of them up tonight and I am currently reading the other, plus trying to write the review for the first one! Oh and I won this really cool Life Application Study Bible from ACM. I like it a lot. As a matter of fact I like it so much that it replaced the one I had been carrying to church. I really enjoy the format that is used and the study helps are awesome.

Anyway, I need to go take a pain pill and catch some sleep, I didn’t get much last night due to the pain and swollen face!

Then again, blogging un-medicated isn’t that much better!

Well the dentist visit went alright, you know, for getting a tooth ripped out and all. It wasn’t fun but not entirely too unpleasant either.

According to my junk scale, I have lost 9 pounds since starting my diet. I am off mountain dew and coca cola. While it has so far been impossible to stick to a completely organic diet, I have done pretty well. I have been eating healthier and following as many of the recommendations of The Makers Diet as I can. Honestly, a lot of the foods he recommends are quite good actually. There are some recipe’s in the book also that I want to try. Getting some of the ingredients has proven problematic as the local health food store is quite pricey.

The local chain stores carry some of the stuff, but wandering around them with all the garbage I am not allowed to have makes it quite an adventure. I want junk food, really really want it. But realizing that it is taking years off my already short time on this planet makes them somewhat less appealing.

I am just blathering again with no apparent goal in mind so I will sign off for now.

I am off work Friday, I get to go see the dentist and have them rip out a tooth. I have been putting this off for awhile but it needs done and now is as good a time as any, plus it gets me out of work for a day!

The diet is going well. I have had a few people ask me if I am losing weight, so either it is noticeable, or they are trying to be nice. Considering the people who have commented, it must be noticeable.

About the title, for those who don’t get it. He played a dentist in “Little Shop of Horrors”, I do not need that kind of dentistry!
