And in this corner
I meant to put this up the other day but I got busy and then I just plain forgot. Anyway, what I was going to say was that there is nothing funner than watching two sisters try and beat the crap out of each other with big vinyl covered foam sticks.

Romper, bomper, stomper boo.
Time for another trip down memory lane. This should be a short one, but you never know what might happen once I get going.
Anywho, I remember Romper Room very well. It was one of my regular shows when I was a preschooler and even into kindergarten, oh how I loathed kindergarten. Kissing tag, blech, but that is another post altogether. So I would sit and watch Romper Room each day with rapt attention. I had sent in my name a few times, I had even sent in some of my artwork, if you want to call stick people artwork. I waited patiently every time, waiting for her to say my name.
Then one day, it finally happened. “Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic mirror, tell me today. Have all my friends had fun at play? I can see Jeff…†Boom, I disappeared. My mother had never seen me move so fast. I had ran behind the chair I was sitting in and refused to come out till she had stopped looking. See I was sick that day so I was still in my PJ’s, I really didn’t want her to see me like that. My mom still giggles about that to this day, my brother would like to chime in I am sure. But if he does I will remind him of his youthful fear of a certain MR. BILL!
All good things must come to an end?
Well, school is back in session tomorrow, while I would love to say I am happy about that, I’m not really. It has been awesome to have some time with my girls. That is just something I don’t normally get while they are in school since I work second shift. Sure they might drive me crazy once in awhile and I have very little free time when they are out of school but those are sacrifices that I am willing to make. Getting to bond with the two coolest little girls around, and having time with my wife since she took vacation too, it was great.
On the semi-bright side, I will be able to blog more again, but is that really a worthwhile thing? Being there when my girls need me, that is worthwhile! Holding their hands in mine, playing games, those are the things that make the day a lot brighter. I may joke about their being the spawn of satan, but really, they are mine through and through. Good or bad, there is no denying that they have taken on some of my characteristics.
Desi can be as sweet as honey but turn bitter when things don’t quite work out the way she wanted. Anna, she is a brooder, she will sit and stew in her own juices until well done or just break down and cry for little or no reason. There are days when I can look at both of them and see a reflection of me at their age. Those are the days that can really hurt me too. I don’t want them to have to deal with things that I did, I want to get them through the rough patches without them being affected in a negative way. Sure we all have to learn life lessons, but I want to protect them from the harder ones if at all possible. I want the best for them and nothing less will do.
I really want to hold on to the times we share, you know, save time in a bottle, but my bottle lost it’s stopper a long time ago. Seems like some of the good stuff leaks out now. That is the reason I blog and photograph when all else fails I will still have these records to remind me of all the fun we had and all the troubles. To some my writing may seem mindless drivel but to me, it is priceless, something to hold together the strands of time so they don’t get away from me. Sometimes I feel like the guy chasing his kite down the beach, that string is just slightly out of reach, bobbing and weaving and trying to elude me at every twist and turn.
With that I bid you a good night may God bless you richly and eternally.
I think you oughta know this!
I haven’t done this in awhile but I feel the need today. Lets look at some search engine queries that have led people to my site. These are always fun and sometimes educational for those who may perform future searches and end up here. As always my responses will be inside the
Trailer Park Girls (I really wish I had never quoted an Eminem song now, this shows up way too much)
Fry Day (Congrats you are in the right place)
reames noodles recipes (Just throw ‘em in anything, they make awesome beef and noodles)
going back to work bronchitis (sometimes you just gotta)
wife is on vacation and i am depressed ( I am so sorry, I understand, really I do. Next time give her some cash and tell her to go to the Bahamas or something that way she isn’t there making you do the honeydo list!)
These aren’t as good as previous ones but the wife is on vacation one was just too good to pass up. I hope this post finds everyone doing well!
God bless.
And they’re off
When did school become so day off oriented? It seems like they get off every other week for something. I understand the legit holidays like Christmas and Easter and even Martin Luther King day. But some of the stuff they get off for is just sad now. They actually had a day off so the teachers could sit around in a meeting all day and brainstorm ideas for change. Whats that you say, the principal stubbed his toe, oh my lets have another day off!
My stint on third shift will be short lived. They found someone to take it over after only two weeks. I have never seen them move so fast on anything in my life. I knew I was a pain in the butt, but I had no idea it was this bad! ![]()
I would love to say I am happy about this but deep down I am disappointed as I was really enjoying my time on third. I got to spend more time with my family and work with people who can tolerate my sense of humor.
