I mentioned on Facebook on Memorial day that I was at the pool. I mentioned that it was very hot. I mentioned that I can’t swim. I also brought up the fact that I am supposed to avoid direct sunlight for long periods.

Let’s expand on these just a bit!
1) It was HOT! I do not like HOT. I prefer lukewarm.

2) I cannot swim, at all. I actually had a swim instructor tell me I cannot swim, I believe him!

3) Some of my meds make me extra sensitive to sunlight so I try to stay in the shade when I am outside. That is not so easy at the pool as they seem to not have figured on any more than one person ever wanting to be in the shade.

Now, on to some other observations:
4) The first thing I saw when I got there was a rather (more than)Rubenesque woman stretching the boundaries of a two piece bikini. I know I am supposed to be nice all the time but really, there are some things you really don’t want to see and wish you could un-see when you happen upon it.

5) I am pleased to announce that the beer belly is back in fashion among middle aged men. While my belly may not be from beer, it did make me feel better about not being the only one there. I kept my shirt on, guys take note, it ain’t sexy.

6) Our community pool hosts the largest gathering of rednecks this side of a NASCAR race!

7) I am amazed at the amount of people who pay no attention to what their kids are doing in public. Add in a large swimming pool and this becomes even more perplexing to me.

8 ) Guys, have your wives do a little something about that tuft of hair coming out of the top of your shorts in back. I DO NOT want to see your butt hair, nobody else does either.

k, I’m done now.

That may not be entirely true but lets just go with it shall we?

There has been a lot of craziness going on over the last week. While I am not a liberty to divulge details; lets just say it has altered my world view. It has brought up emotions that I would just rather not deal with. Thank God for my bible, my meds and my iPod or I would probably have went off the deep end.

Enough about that though. As my Facebook followers know it has been raining a lot here, unfortunately there is nowhere left for the rain water to go so it has been flooding. Fortunately the water hasn’t gotten high enough to damage any homes that I’ve heard of. My favorite park though is under water, lots and lots of water.

The upside of this is it has given me the opportunity to shoot some video footage and learn some of the basics of video editing. While it will never replace my love of photography it is a fun diversion.

This weekend has been really rough on all of us and with that thought I am going to go to bed and toss and turn for a few hours!

Another Christmas has come and gone. While money was tight, I think everyone came away happy. I was able to put tires on my truck thanks to my parents and still had enough left over to buy a small flip-like video camera. Something to play with when bored.

Sunday we all went out after church to do a little shopping around for needed items, like a mattress that doesn’t sag in the middle. We found a few possibilities, but nothing we were willing to commit to yet. While shopping we stopped at a local flea market to browse.

While there I found an eMac that was in very good shape. They wanted $75 but he went down to $50, so that was a deal that I couldn’t pass up. It’s really quite nice and it gives me something to do my work on while the girls continue to kill the windows machine. It is capable of working with my photos and videos, slowly but not as slow as the windows computer.

I am planning on doing more photography this year, even if it’s only for me. I just need to get out and create, I think that will lighten my mood considerably. Got to go, need a nap after taking my meds then on to some chores!

Still alive and kicking just waiting on my motivation to start-up. My stupid meds make it quite difficult to function on a normal level. Meanwhile everyone else is still expecting to you be as normal as they want you to be. I came to realize long ago that there are just some things I am not going to be able to do anymore. Now I just need everyone else to get that too.

On the non whining front, the weather has been beautiful here lately, hot but still very nice. We’ve not had any real good storms, which is disappointing, but I guess I will survive. Maybe next season I can take a trip to Kansas to chase for a week, maybe not though.

Anna and I have been riding our bikes lately and Becky is ready to start walking again. Between the two of them, they are going to kill me.

As I write this I am wondering if I am going to fall asleep before it is time to get up, I’m not feeling very confident about that. Last week was rough, emotionally draining. This week is shaping up to be more of the same, just of a different variety.

My health insurance expired at the beginning of this month, now all I have is the Medicaid with a huge spend down that makes it practically useless. I have tried to get other health insurance but that isn’t working out. No one wants to cover me. No real surprise there. I wonder if this means I will be fined under Obamacare?

Anyway, without the insurance I can’t afford my medications, even with the disability payments. Between meds and constant doctor visits I go through a lot of money each month, money that I can not afford. I am still unsure of what to do about this, it has been weighing on my mind since Saturday. I imagine something will come up, God seems to provide just in time, usually when I realize I need to stop worrying about it.

Also, it bares repeating, Pop Tarts are highly flammable. Don’t ask how I know, I just do and we will leave it at that.

I am hoping that the upswing in my mood over the last couple days is due to my new meds and not just wishful thinking. I have been not all to entirely unhappy. Now if I could just get this knee fixed I would be about as normal as I get!

I haven’t been posting lately because, well, there just isn’t that much happening. There has been a lot to do at work and that has kept me pretty busy and too tired to blog.

The girls first day of school is Tuesday, I don’t know if I am looking forward to it or not. I always worry about them on that first day. Wondering if they are doing ok and finding where they need to be. Are they making friends blah blah blah. You know the drill right?

I need some more music to put on my MP3 player and I am open to suggestions. Yes Linda I already have some Replacements on there! I am looking for some high energy music, something to get the blood pumping! Let me know what you think!
