Hello, my name is Jeff, and I can’t throw anything away!

Have I mentioned my bad habit of collecting things? It wouldn’t be such a bad thing but sometimes it ends up just being junk. Such is not the case with this toy. My mom got this for me quite awhile back, I believe at a yard sale. At any rate, it is one of my favorites on my shelves.

Look familiar?

Look familiar?

I was going to talk about him more but lets see if anyone can guess what it is and where it comes from!

Romper, bomper, stomper boo.

Time for another trip down memory lane. This should be a short one, but you never know what might happen once I get going.

Anywho, I remember Romper Room very well. It was one of my regular shows when I was a preschooler and even into kindergarten, oh how I loathed kindergarten. Kissing tag, blech, but that is another post altogether. So I would sit and watch Romper Room each day with rapt attention. I had sent in my name a few times, I had even sent in some of my artwork, if you want to call stick people artwork. I waited patiently every time, waiting for her to say my name.

Then one day, it finally happened. “Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic mirror, tell me today. Have all my friends had fun at play? I can see Jeff…” Boom, I disappeared. My mother had never seen me move so fast. I had ran behind the chair I was sitting in and refused to come out till she had stopped looking. See I was sick that day so I was still in my PJ’s, I really didn’t want her to see me like that. My mom still giggles about that to this day, my brother would like to chime in I am sure. But if he does I will remind him of his youthful fear of a certain MR. BILL!

Now where did I park that ark?

Good grief, enough with the water already. My hometown is flooded(parents are ok though). All my old friends are reporting in and doing well. It’s a scary thing though. There was that moment of doubt when things started getting crazy and the news reports were flooding in. My parents, God bless them, will not answer their phone unless you do the secret ring. It is darn hard to do the secret ring on my cell phone because half the time I don’t hear it ring the first time. Fortunately my brother answers his phone so I was able to get some news as to what was going on there.

Here it isn’t much of anything, other than the fact that our retention pond now is more of a retention lake. If I remember I will take a couple snaps of it tomorrow!

Put away the party favors,

because I am still alive!

There is no life insurance anyway so you couldn’t collect.

It has been an interesting few days. When I haven’t felt like total crap I have been on the move! For that matter I was on the move even when I was feeling like crap.

It was an awesome Mothers Day I even drove up to see my mom. Granted I couldn’t dedicate the amount of time I would have liked to, but at least I didn’t totally neglect her. It was great to see her and to see what has changed around town this time. I even took my camera with me, but never took a shot. I got so caught up in everything else that I just plain forgot to take it out.

I hope to do more work to the site, including actually updating a bit more, in the very near future. Right now I am trying to decide whether I want to switch hosts yet again. See I have been having some troubles ever since I moved to this hosting company. The worst being that some people never get my emails sent from the domain as they are being flagged as spam. I am guessing that this is because of the stellar list of clients my hosting company serves. I did a reverse DNS search on them once and it came back with a lot of very interesting domain names that were being hosted along with mine.

Going back to bed now, peace!
