Too fast for love

Yeah, title is from a Motley Crue song. Has nothing to do with anything.

The last few weeks have been strange if anything. Normally this is where I would tell you how horrible it all was and other woe is me crap. I’m going to skip that this time and just say God is good.

I am currently fighting Indiana weather for a chance to get out and do some photography. It’s in the 70′s right now, by Saturday there’s a chance of snow! I’m ready to move now.

I don’t know.

It’s been a rough week and the next one looks to be more of the same. I did an event photo shoot for a local nonprofit. While there someone from another agency spotted me and asked my wife if I would shoot their event next week.

I’m a sucker for this kind of stuff since you always meet some of the nicest people. Since I do it for free they always feed me. So nice people, free food, and a chance to photograph people, what’s not to like?

Nothing new under the sun.

That may not be entirely true but lets just go with it shall we?

There has been a lot of craziness going on over the last week. While I am not a liberty to divulge details; lets just say it has altered my world view. It has brought up emotions that I would just rather not deal with. Thank God for my bible, my meds and my iPod or I would probably have went off the deep end.

Enough about that though. As my Facebook followers know it has been raining a lot here, unfortunately there is nowhere left for the rain water to go so it has been flooding. Fortunately the water hasn’t gotten high enough to damage any homes that I’ve heard of. My favorite park though is under water, lots and lots of water.

The upside of this is it has given me the opportunity to shoot some video footage and learn some of the basics of video editing. While it will never replace my love of photography it is a fun diversion.

This weekend has been really rough on all of us and with that thought I am going to go to bed and toss and turn for a few hours!

I don’t enjoy being sick. It’s bad enough that I have crohn’s and deal with depression, but throw in a bug and it just plain stinks.

On the bright side, they had the Lord of the Rings on today so I had something to watch.

The weather here has been keeping me inside for most of the day so I haven’t been out taking photos or making movies. I really can’t wait for springtime.

Another Christmas has come and gone. While money was tight, I think everyone came away happy. I was able to put tires on my truck thanks to my parents and still had enough left over to buy a small flip-like video camera. Something to play with when bored.

Sunday we all went out after church to do a little shopping around for needed items, like a mattress that doesn’t sag in the middle. We found a few possibilities, but nothing we were willing to commit to yet. While shopping we stopped at a local flea market to browse.

While there I found an eMac that was in very good shape. They wanted $75 but he went down to $50, so that was a deal that I couldn’t pass up. It’s really quite nice and it gives me something to do my work on while the girls continue to kill the windows machine. It is capable of working with my photos and videos, slowly but not as slow as the windows computer.

I am planning on doing more photography this year, even if it’s only for me. I just need to get out and create, I think that will lighten my mood considerably. Got to go, need a nap after taking my meds then on to some chores!

Healthy is subjective!

I am back to normal, although normal isn’t all that good. I’ll take what I can get at this point.

I really am hoping to get out and do some photography. It has been pretty sparse lately. Even the flowers I posted the other day were on the inside of the house.

Alright, let’s get out there and get some bad guys!

Since I have been ill I really haven’t been too productive. Thats not to say I have done nothing, just not much.
Only noticeable thing really is a total revamp of the gallery on my photography site. Jeff Allen Photography, www.jeffallenphoto.com

Other than that, I have basically become one with the bed. I am hoping that it is starting to clear up a bit now. Won’t get too excited yet as I thought that a few days ago too.

I entered a previously posted portrait of my girls in the fair. Got second place this year. I love doing this, I don’t really care if I win anything or not, but it is nice.

I am hoping to get more photos done soon. I think my Crohn’s has leveled out for now. As long as I don’t get the flu again I can get something accomplished.

The time is counting down till the fair. Would you like to know how much I have accomplished? Nothing, nada, not a darn thing. I would love to say it was because I was so busy with other projects but it’s not.

I am the king of procrastination. If it were a Olympic event I would take the gold every time. It is a sad but true fact about me. I will end up trying to get it all done in one or two days, even though I have had an entire year to work on it.

Yes I did it in school too. Most of my papers and book reports were done the day before they were due, and honestly, it was noticeable. I did not excel in either of those aspects of my schooling.

Now instead of wasting more time on here I need to go to bed and get some sleep so I can get out tomorrow and do something about this fair entry.
