Whew, tough day
I spent the entire day fighting the very very strong urge to smoke a cigarette. I haven’t wanted one this bad since the first day without. I’m not sure why but my will power is taking a beating right now and I may have to lock myself in a closet in order to get past this!
I almost forgot the title
21 days without a smoke and still going strong. It has been easier the last few days since I am back in inspection. There is always something to do in there to keep me busy.
I haven’t been writing much as I try and get used to these hours. Thats another thing about getting older, it takes a lot longer to adapt to a new shift. I remember when I was younger and I could work any hours and even pull double shifts. Now I am lucky to make it through a full shift without wanting a nap.
It is still very Seattle like here so no new pictures yet. They say that the sun will be out tomorrow, I will believe it when I see it. Not that it really matters much as I will be sleeping through the majority of it. Darn it third shift you foiled me again!
repeat repeat
Over the next few days I will be adding some older photos of mine to the photoblog. So be sure to check that too!
Not a lot to report today, it’s Friday thank God and I am ready for my somewhat shortened weekend. I don’t think it will be too hard getting used to those 3rdd shift hours again as I still haven’t really gotten over them yet from the last time.
I apologize for not answering comments lately as there was a glitch in the way the new Wordpress sends them and it confused me (big surprise there). Anyway I figured it out and everything is fine now.

Oh boy do I want a cigarette badly. I am resisting the urge but it is very strong today.
I am going back to third shift Sunday which means my posting time will change, again. The fellow who took my place on that shift quit and they asked me to take it back temporarily until they can find another sucker replacement. It’s really not that bad, it’s just hard getting used to the hours and having to sleep during the morning.
My lovely wife Becky isn’t too thrilled about it but she is being a trooper because she knows I am a hopeless butt kisser and will do anything to please the bosses!
I really wanted to go out and take some photos today but it is gray outside as usual. I swear we are turning black and white here. I want to call the Technicolor people and ask them if they could give me any help here. I think Seattle has more sun than we have over the last few weeks.
Day seven and eight
The last two days have been fairly easy. I have been able to ignore the triggers and just go on. I only did one lozenge today so that is a big improvement.
I went to Sears the other day to use a couple gift cards I had to replace my small camera. When I got there I found the camera I wanted and the salesman said they had just one left. I paid with my cards and took my reciept to the merchandise pickup area. I sat there for around 10 minutes when a young man comes out and informs me that they do not have that camera in stock at all. I return to the register where I made my initial purchase and they refund all the money back onto one of the gift cards.
Unbeknownst to me, it takes up to seven business days for refunds to show up on the card. I tried to use it at another store which had my camera in stock. It was declined, declined I tell you. The ultimate in humiliation, no wait the ultimate is when you call the card company and think it is all straightened out so you come back in and try again. DECLINED…
I came home with my tail between my legs and read up on the cards website. This is when I discovered the waiting period. The waiting period ended tonight so tomorrow I will go and attempt to get my camera again. Hopefully they still have the darn thing in stock!
