I’m fine with God…It’s Christians I can’t stand (Getting past the religious garbage in the search for spiritual truth). That is one long title/subtitle, there I got that off my chest. Now lets get down to the nitty gritty. This is one of those books that can make you think, a lot. It can also make you cringe, until you get the point. They cover several different kinds of Christians that they can’t stand in the book for example: Christians who think they have a monopoly on the truth, Christians who believe God wants them to be rich, Christians who don’t know what they believe, as well as several others.
I saw myself in a few of the ones they covered, and felt rightly ashamed as I hadn’t realized how annoying the habits I had were. I think most people will find a little of themselves somewhere in this book, which brings me to my biggest point. Unfortunately, the ones who really need this book would never pick it up because of the title alone. I have dealt with my share of modern day pharisee’s and I can tell you right now that they would never read this book. They are convinced that they are perfect and need no help.
Oop’s, I got sidetracked a bit there. All in all this is a really good book. It may help you, it may anger you, actually I am sure it will anger you at some point but stick with it, it is all worth it in the end. There were a few chapters where I was quite annoyed with the authors until they made their point. That only happened a few times before I realized that the way it was laid out was kind of like a roller coaster. Were going up a hill, very big hill, seems to take too long, you start to get annoyed then voila, you’re at the top of the hill, you can see where it is going and down you go, full speed. That may not be the best way to describe it but the only other one I can think of is slightly offensive.
I am giving this book 5 stars and it deserves every one of them. They worked me hard and brought me to realize a few things about myself, not sure if that was their intent, but hey, it happens.

If it isn’t one thing, it’s another!
So I get over the bronchitis/flu, whatever it was that I had and I get a tooth infection. I hate having a tooth ache but when you throw in a swollen face to boot, I really don’t like it. So I made an emergency trip to the dentist today for some antibiotics and a few pain pills and next week I will be subject to yet another extraction.
In other news, I got some new books to review. I just finished one of them up tonight and I am currently reading the other, plus trying to write the review for the first one! Oh and I won this really cool Life Application Study Bible from ACM. I like it a lot. As a matter of fact I like it so much that it replaced the one I had been carrying to church. I really enjoy the format that is used and the study helps are awesome.
Anyway, I need to go take a pain pill and catch some sleep, I didn’t get much last night due to the pain and swollen face!
So sue me
Alright, so I was wrong, I didn’t post anything of use. Well nothing all that interesting has happened anyway. I wake up, I eat, I go to work, I come home, I go to sleep. Whew stop this crazy rollercoaster, I want off.
Life has been pretty boring lately, that or I haven’t been very attentive. I guess it could be either one. I did try a couple of new food items which I plan on reviewing soon. I figure I might as well write about all the fun I am having with my new diet. I have found things that I had no idea they would ever make organic. For instance, did you know they make organic beer? I had no idea, thats for sure. If I ever find some of it, I am going to try it! For purely scientific reasons mind you.
I have got to get to bed. I need my daily dose of tossing and turning.

We are going to do something different today. Yes I know it is Fry Day but I decided to forgo that for today. I am going to review a food item, just not fries!
You can probably guess by the title that it is something from McDonald’s, and you would be right. I decided that I just had to try the McSkillet burrito, it looked really good. To be honest it wasn’t too bad either. I think the roasted peppers and onions made the meal. I am not a fan of the sausage that McD’s uses but it was alright in here. I just wish they would have chopped it up, instead they cut the patty in half and lay it out that way. There are also potatoes and salsa in the mix, it all adds up to a very “hearty” breakfast that really is quite tasty.
Then comes the bad news! This burrito weighs in at 610 calories, 330 of which are from fat! There are 36g of fat, can you feel your arteries hardening yet? How about 410mg of cholesterol? Talk about death in a tortilla. Then you would think well at least it will fill me up, wrong again, there is only 8.4 ounces of food there. Now here is the kicker, sit back and count the things in the burrito. Lets see, theres a tortilla, eggs, sausage, potatoes, green and red peppers, salsa, and cheese. Thats not too bad thats only 8 things, but wait theres more. There are 114+ ingredients listed for this burrito 114! I’m not going to list them all here, you can go here and see them.
Was it good? Yes
Will I have it again someday? Only if my doctor says it’s ok!
I haven’t given up, but I am getting discouraged!
Well here it is, another Fry Day and there isn’t a fry review. Why is that you may ask? Well it is simple really, I have a sick 11 year old, strep, so I am again stuck at home.
I will get past all this nonsense and have another Fry Day soon. I am jonesing for some french fries now. I am about two quarts low of grease in my arteries so I am going to have to get a fill up soon!
Alright then, I am off to bed. Even though she is sick, she will be up early wanting me to serve her every whim!
