I am running out of words to express my dismay at how I feel. I guess I could get a thesaurus and make sure I’ve got them all but that seems like effort, we’ve already covered my thoughts on putting effort out.

On the plus side, spring is approaching and that means STORMS! Also the Indiana severe weather symposium is coming up in March, yes I am going and getting my weather geek on.

Sadly, this is all I have to say today so with that I bid you adieu.

I’ve not been doing well with it. The last few weeks have been full of birthdays and mothersdays, neither is particularly conducive to dieting.

I’ve been keeping track still, but not making very good choices. I haven’t been walking as much either. Add that all up and it equals a standstill. I’ve not lost nor gained any weight.

In other depressing news, we have been passed by every good storm over the last few weeks. I want some thunder and lightning, high winds and hail! Bring it baby, I’m ready!

Well between all the stormy goodness and a vicious case of stomach flu it has been up and down over the last several days. The storms I have talked about already, lets talk about the “STOMACH FLU”. This was no ordinary bug, I’ve handled that before, this bug kicked my butt. 2 days I was down, I actually had to ask for help with some things, thats a lot too considering how stubborn I am about not asking for help. I think it even caught Becky off guard. She rallied and delt with the girls and my whiny butt. Anna even got in on the action coming up to check on me every few hours. Bringing me drinks and making me smile, she would be a great nurse.

That said, I haven’t done much in the way of photos other than the lightning photos the other day. I hope to remedy that very soon. The fair is coming up and I still haven’t decided on what I want to shoot and enter for that. I may just do some more portraits as those seem to go over the best.

OK, going to sleep now, yeah right.

Well yeah, okay. I haven’t been completely active on here lately. I have been out taking photos, just nothing worth sharing yet.
The storms have been pathetic so no chasing yet either. So mostly I have been sitting around wallowing in self pity.
Sounds exciting doesn’t it?

Still alive and kicking just waiting on my motivation to start-up. My stupid meds make it quite difficult to function on a normal level. Meanwhile everyone else is still expecting to you be as normal as they want you to be. I came to realize long ago that there are just some things I am not going to be able to do anymore. Now I just need everyone else to get that too.

On the non whining front, the weather has been beautiful here lately, hot but still very nice. We’ve not had any real good storms, which is disappointing, but I guess I will survive. Maybe next season I can take a trip to Kansas to chase for a week, maybe not though.

Anna and I have been riding our bikes lately and Becky is ready to start walking again. Between the two of them, they are going to kill me.

I am losing what is left of my sanity. What is with this stupid weather, it was nice yesterday and chilly today.

I am sure I have mentioned my less than stellar therapist here before but in case I haven’t, he still makes me feel worse. Every time I visit I feel worse when I leave than when I got there. Any clues as to why that might be?

I am really wanting to get out and take some pictures but so far I haven’t had the time or inclination. When it’s nice outside I feel like crap and when it’s all blustery and cold I want to go outside, what the heck.

We are coming into the storm season, my favorite part of the year. I am hoping for some good ones this year as the last few have been disappointing. alright, I’m out of here for now.

So it was a bit stormy last night. The storms had not quite reached us yet but the lightning show was tremendous. I decided I wanted some shots of it before it started to rain, camera is not waterproof. I drive to a spot where there is nothing to obstruct my view of the northern sky, this while noticing the warning sirens were sounding. I tend to ignore those as the people running them are trigger happy and set them off when they get spooked.

So I pull into the driveway of a local church and start shooting the sky. Not getting much as I am using my point and shoot instead of the good camera, that shutter lag can kill you when you are trying to take fast shots of something. The sky was ominous, well at least during lightning strikes, it was nighttime after all. I turned on the radio in time to catch a warning about some rotation in the storm spotted by radar, again, nothing to worry about as far as I was concerned.

Then, all hell broke loose!

The back end of my truck lifted about an inch or so, not off the ground mind you, just flexing the springs a bit. Followed quickly by my truck getting pelted with debris from the field behind and beside the church. My reaction was instant and surprising, I yelled “Oh sh**” and floored it onto the main road. Putting myself into a better position to see what was going on. Only straight line winds, thank God!

I made a rookie mistake when I planted myself there. I put the incoming storm behind me, I couldn’t see what was going on back there so I panicked when the wind hit me. Had I been turned the other way I would have seen the winds coming through the field by the debris it was blowing around.

Through it all, I didn’t even get a good shot of the lightning, or anything for that matter. So instead, enjoy this portion of a rainbow that I shot several days earlier. Which was also shot on the crappy small camera. Not really a very good shot but at least it’s something new to look at here!

I am trying to out type the next round of storms. That last round actually unnerved me. I wasn’t prepared for it and when the hammer fell, I wasn’t ready. I did manage to grab the watch spot at work. So I got to stand outside and watch the storm and make sure it was all clear before everyone went back to work. It did get pretty nasty, but when the sirens went off that caught me off guard. I usually have my radio with me when I expect severe weather, but I wasn’t expecting it tonight, boy was I wrong.

You know Mr. Gore may have a valid point about this global warming thing. I have personally tried to write it off as something that just happens every once in awhile but this is getting out of hand. You just don’t have that many storms in January and February. The ground here is again saturated and we have standing water everywhere. I can’t wait to see what we get this summer. It will either be the drought of the century or we will all end up floating away!

Whatever I have has gotten worse. I didn’t want to but I called off work today so I can get some rest. I absolutely cannot miss the next two days as we will be running shorthanded as it is. I wouldn’t do that to them.

Alright, I am going to go lay down and read now.

That would be the sound of my head beating against my monitor! Yet another crappy storm. I am getting severely upset with this. I’m about ready to take a drive to somewhere that has real storms. I think it may have rained for about 10 minutes and well, I think I heard thunder once, what a waste.

I should probably be careful what I wish for or I may get more than I really want this close to home!

I upgraded my version of wordpress to 2.2 and lost a couple things. I will try and fix them later, they weren’t that important anyway!

I guess I can go to bed now and try to sleep. I couldn’t fall asleep last night to save my life and I have a feeling that tonight will be more of the same. I am loathe to write it off to any medicines that I am taking although if it doesn’t stop soon I may have to try dropping them one at a time until I can sleep!
