Fair time: the parade part two!

A part of the parade that automatically made me cringe was this next photo. Becky would have given him a stern talking to about this behavior!

Oh you are in so much trouble

Not that my wife is not fun loving, she just has this thing about watching someone do something that may cause them harm!

Ouch!

Well that last one went over like a lead balloon so lets try something a bit more abstract. Well it’s not really abstract, just a close up of the top of my wife’s fountain. I have some better stuff that I took over the weekend but I am saving those till I get back in your good graces!

I have noticed the low battery light on my mouse has been flashing now for 5 days. I am waiting to see when it goes totally dead!

Hope everyone had an good memorial day. Aside from the serious nature of the holiday, it does present us with another day to stuff ourselves. I do love to grill, and I took advantage of the mild weather to do just that. Aside from that I did just what I planned on doing, nothing!

Oh, by the way. Last year I told about the fountain I bought my wife. I promised pictures but never delivered. Well here’s a shot of it now. I finally got a cord so we could hook it up, she was happy!

Arkansas or bust.

Yeah I still have stuff to talk about on the trip.

I like to kid people sometimes. Not relentlessly or anything like that but mild teasing! My wife has a few things that she does that bring this out in me. One of them is when she says wash, she pronounces it warsh. Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of friends from southern states so she isn’t the first one to take the brunt of my attack on this one.

Anyway, we stopped on the upper tip of Arkansas at a restaurant called the Apple Barrel. I figured with a name like that it couldn’t be too bad! I was wrong. Anyway, we get in there and order our drinks and the waitress goes away for awhile. She finally comes back but she is empty handed. She explains to us that it has been busy and all the glasses are dirty, “As soon as we get some warshed, I’ll get your drinks”. I looked at my wife and burst into laughter, I then commented that she was in her element here. She actually laughed too, thank God.

We also stopped at a gas station just before we got into Arkansas that caught my attention. Not so much that it was in the middle of nowhere technically speaking, not even that fact that they didn’t have card readers on the pumps. It was a little mom and pop outfit so I forgave that. What really got my attention was the sign on the door that said, among other things:

If you don’t have shoes
If you don’t have a shirt
If you have to pull up your pants in order to walk
go back to your car and get dressed!

For some reason that made me laugh for quite awhile. Yeah the guy working there was a bit of a redneck, but at least he had his priorities straight.

We also stopped at a convenience store and a man approached us as we were leaving and asked me if I was a Pastor. I said no and what made him think that. He pointed at the cross around my neck. Apparently no one in Arkansas wears a cross? Well except for their pastors.

It’s the end of the world as we know it.

This weather is crazy I tell you. When I went to work it was 56 degree’s outside. It is now 12 degrees and falling! Did I mention the wind, no, well let me tell you. I had a hard time getting home tonight. Not because of the ice on the roads thanks to the freak thunderstorm but because there were garbage cans all over the darn place. These people were actually stupid enough to put them out on the windiest day we have had in a long time. Right this moment it is blowing at 36 miles per hour. I think my wifes wind chime might be somewhere on the next block.

Indiana has the oddest weather I have seen ever! There were unconfirmed reports of tornado touchdowns and a hailstorm that made me even notice. It didn’t beat the one we had a few years ago that was piled against the building from the wind, that hail drift was over 4 feet tall. This might have made it were it not for the fact that it was still on the warm side when it started.

Again another really cool storm wasted because a) I was at work, and b) it was dark outside.

Me and the weather systems around here need to have a serious chat about this crap!
